Consumption of Food, Fuel, and Media in Contemporary Culture
The Integrated Term (i-Term) is Augsburg’s own version of the learning community model used at cutting-edge campuses across the country. The i-Term works across academic disciplines to solve problems too complex for any one field of expertise. The i-Term empowers students to take charge of their own learning, using narrative evaluation (rather than traditional grading) to focus students on learning, rather than on grades. The i-Term is the students’ sole academic activity for the entire semester.
Six professors, 50 students, one humongous, life-changing problem to solve
The i-Term theme for Fall 2009 is Fate of the Earth 101. It brings together 50 energized students who are unafraid to tackle challenging questions. Along with six professors from four different scholarly fields (English, History, Religion, Sociology) and staff from TRIO, Information Technology, and Lindell Library, we will learn and act together to bring positive change to our local communities, and to become more intelligent and thoughtful listeners and thinkers.
