Evaluating Web Resources

The majority of the content that is available on the web does not go through the same peer-reviewed and editorial process as Augsburg's books and articles do. However, that doesn't mean the web is devoid of academic content.

Keep the five following evaluation concepts in mind as you are exploring web-based content:

• Accuracy
• Authority
• Objectivity
• Currency
• Verifiability

As you will see, it takes much more work than just finding the source before you can refer to a web-based article as legitimately academic!
