Douglas Diamond
Assistant Professor
diamond@augsburg.edu

Douglas Diamond, Assistant Professor-Orchestra.  Mr. Diamond was trained in New York at The Mannes College of Music, and, privately, by Vladimir Kin.  Additional conducting studies were with Otto Werner Müller at the Yale School of Music, and with Donald Hunsberger and Taavo Virkhaus at the Eastman School of Music.  He later became a private student of Gustav Meier, after Meier retired from active teaching at the University of Michigan and the Tanglewood Music Center.

Prior to his position at Augsburg, Diamond was Director of Orchestras at Grinnell and Luther Colleges, both in Iowa, and served as sabbatical replacement for the Director of Orchestras at the UMKC Conservatory of Music in Kansas City.
