National Football Foundation’s Minnesota chapter honors Missy Strauch

National Football Foundation - logoThe Minnesota chapter of the National Football Foundation recently announced that it will award Missy Strauch, head athletic trainer at Augsburg College, with the Fred Zamberletti Award. The award, named after the famed Minnesota Vikings athletic trainer, will be given in recognition of Strauch’s decades of service across all levels of Minnesota athletics.

Strauch will receive the award at the NFF’s annual Minnesota Football Honors event on April 17.

Augsburg women’s hockey team to play in Europe

whockeyFor the second time in the 13-year history of the program, the Augsburg College women’s hockey team will be traveling to Europe, this time for a 10-day excursion to Germany, Austria and Italy in early January 2008.

The Auggies will play three games against local club competition during the trip from Jan. 3-12, while also experiencing the beauty and history of Europe. This is the second-ever European trip for the Augsburg women’s hockey program; the team traveled to Italy and Austria in the 2003-04 season (photo from the 2003-04 trip shown).

Twenty members of the team, along with head coach Jill Pohtilla, assistant coach Tom Peart, head athletic trainer Missy Strauch and several family members and friends, will be making this year’s trip. Continue reading “Augsburg women’s hockey team to play in Europe”
