Fall 1998, Vol. 61, No. 1 Terry Tafoya Through storytelling, slides, and humor, Terry Tafoya, Ph.D., will lecture on enhancing cross-cultural communication and the ways it impacts relationships and communities on October 20, 7 p.m., in Hoversten Chapel, Foss Center. Trained as a traditional Native American storyteller, Tafoya is a Taos Pueblo and Warm Springs Indian who has used American Indian ritual and ceremony in his work as a family therapist while serving as clinical faculty and senior staff for the University of Washington School of Medicine. Tafoya has made presentations throughout the world. Sponsored by Augsburg College through the Center for Counseling and Health Promotion, the American Indian Student Services Program, the American Indian Studies program, and the Diversity Committee. Funded in part by a FIPSE grant (Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education) from the United States Department of Education, Drug and Violence Prevention Program in Higher Education. |
