About the new Now...

The new, New, New, NEW Now arrived in the mail today and, if you don't mind, I have a suggestion to make. Do it again and again and again. Hooray. Finally got a real alumni magazine. And this is a wonderful premiere issue. Good for you and the others who helped make this come to pass. It is so attractive. It will be fun to see all of the good stories, features, artwork, etc. that you can fit into it. An enjoyable challenge, I am sure. My best wishes to you and your team.

Just received my copy of the magazine with its "new look." It's a real knock-out graphic design, the photos are a perfect complement to the articles, and the thematic approach and superb writing are added bonuses. Writing in the alum publications has always been the highest quality, but you folks have really outdone yourselves with this issue. The articles about Old Main and several of the Auggie families brought smiles to my lips and tears to my eyes. Can't wait for the next issue. Keep up the good work.

Congratulations and thanks for the new format of the Augsburg Now received recently. The contents brought back so many memories from the 11 years I spent as an [academy, college, and seminary] student on the Augsburg campus and four years as a staff person. The article on "Remembering Main-Old and New" was of special interest to me since all of my classes, social functions, chapel, physical education, showers, etc. were spent in this building during my student days. I lived in North Hall, a three-story men's dorm. Personally, I am grateful for Old Main and the service it has rendered for nearly 100 years to the life and development of Augsburg. The education and training I received within these walls has been of special blessing to me physically, socially, and spiritually. It was in the theological room that God called me into the ministry in which I have now served for 61 years. To have witnessed the transformation of the Augsburg campus from one square block with four or five old buildings, a student body of 200‚300 to the present campus of more than 25 acres, 20 or more modern buildings, parking lots, tennis courts, athletic field, and a student body of 3,000 is truly a miracle and something I never thought I would see in my lifetime!
