How we work

OIP is led by the Assistant Vice President of International Programs, who reports directly to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of the College. Below are brief descriptions and links for the offices that make up OIP.

An Augsburg student living and learning abroad.Augsburg Abroad is the main study-abroad office for Augsburg College and the first step for students and faculty at Augsburg looking to study abroad or take students abroad. Additionally, international universities or program providers interested in working with Augsburg College should contact Augsburg Abroad directly.

International Student Advising (ISA) provides advising and advocacy for international students in achieving their personal development and educational goals in a way that embraces common humanity and cultural diversity. The director of ISA serves as the Designated School Official and Responsible Officer for the college’s F and J visa programs.

The Center for Global Education (CGE) is a nationally recognized international service provider that works with community groups and educational institutions across the nation. The Center for Global Education specializes in short-term travel seminars and semester long programs. Through CGE, Augsburg has branch campuses and adjunct faculty in Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Namibia. In addition, the Center works with partners and consultants in other areas of the world.

International Partners manages Augsburg College’s exchange programs based on reciprocal agreements in Norway, Germany, and Finland. Its mission is to provide high quality learning opportunities that combine rigorous academic work, practical professional experiences, and daily immersion in another culture.
