Pan-Afrikan Alumni
Council
The purpose of the Pan-Afrikan Alumni Council is to
provide leadership, vision, and support for students while attending Augsburg
College. The Pan-Afrikan Alumni Council Committee has several ways to
get involved. Let us know if you're interested
in serving on one of these committees!
Pan-Afrikan Alumni Council
Mentoring Committee: Chad Jackson
The mentoring committee will work with the Director on developing mentor
connections and will focus on scheduling mentoring sessions for Pan-Afrikan
students who have received the M. Anita Gay Hawthorne Leadership Award
and for students who would like to have a mentor.
We are looking to help develop students in their area
of study and connect them with alumni and community members who have worked
and/or are working in their interested field or who can share some insight
about life and college.
Event Programming Committee: Michael Morris
The event programming committee will work with the Director on programming
for Pan-Afrikan Alumni. This includes scheduling Alumni/Basketball games,
Alumni gatherings and luncheons, and in the future, the M. Anita Gay Hawthorne
Jazz and Poetry Bash.
Community Committee: Gianna Theuri and Dr. Noro
Andriamanalina
This committee will work with the Director to help create a community
(in the sense of being and feeling) for Augsburg students, alumni and
community. The committee will advise the Director on different ways she
can invite and provide a place of gathering for our people.
Advising Committee: Keith Allen
This committee will work with the Director and advise the Director on
different ways to handle different situations that take place within the
Pan-Afrikan Center and the Pan-Afrikan Student Union.
Crisis Management Committee: Michael Morris
The Crisis Management Committee will be available to advise the Director
when working with a crisis situation and to help during the time of a
crisis to prevent future occurrences.
Endowment Committee: Andry Jurcich
The Endowment Committee will work with the Director and the Office of
Institutional Advancement to find fun and interesting ways to raise money
for the M. Anita Hawthorne Endowed Fund.
