International Partners - For International Students

Academic Requirements

Academic staff at your school make the final decision about whether you are accepted into the International Partners program. The minimum academic requirements are:

  • Full-time student at a Partner school
  • Minimum 1 year of college completed
  • Minimum 4.0 European grade point average

Application Procedure

The International Coordinator at your school will help you complete the on-line application. Upon receipt of your application, Augsburg will send you an official letter of admission and a form which will enable you to get a student visa through the American Embassy, as well as the student financial support your school recommends. You will also receive a Housing contract to sign and return to the International Partners office.

You should make travel arrangements as early as possible, but no later than one month before the required arrival date. When you arrive at the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport, an Augsburg representative will meet you and help you move into your campus housing.

Fall application deadline: March 1
Spring application deadline: November 1

Classes and Registration

To qualify for a student visa, you must take a minimum of three classes per semester. This is equivalent to 30 ECTS (European Community Credit Transfer System) credits.

Academic staff at your school, together with the International Partners director at Augsburg, will determine Augsburg courses that fulfill your European degree requirements. Your academic coursework also can be combined with practical experience in your professional field. When your Augsburg study program has been approved, the International Partners director will enroll you in those courses.
