Please join us in congratulating Cameron Olson ’17, who has just been selected as one of three Rossing Physics Scholars in the country. Each year, the ELCA awards a small number of $10,000 scholarships to recognize exemplary students in physics.
Olson, majoring in physics and minoring in computer science and mathematics, chose to attend Augsburg because of its physics department and began conducting research with Dr. Mark Engebretson his freshman year. He continued to build upon his research skills when he joined Augsburg alum, Dr. Brian Anderson, at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab last summer to conduct space physics research. He will return to Johns Hopkins this summer, and plans to apply for a PhD program in quantum physics or plasma physics next year.
A big congratulations to Cameron and the Physics department!
