Augsburg College
Jeffrey E Johnson
Associate Professor and Chair
johnson9@augsburg.edu

Jeff Johnson likes to teach Quantum Physics and Astronomy, which “allows me to give my students an appreciation of the wonder and weirdness of our universe.”

Before coming to Augsburg and completing his Ph.D. in elementary particle theory, Johnson worked in the industry as a mathematician and physicist. He began research in space physics in 1989. He came to Augsburg because he saw it as a “college of the city.” “I also liked how the department is committed to the students and teaching.”

“We try to connect with our students. The opportunities for undergraduate research are plentiful, and students have appreciated the chance to work with professors on cutting edge research.”
