Klobuchar for Minnesota Fellowship, Summer 2018

Klobuchar For Minnesota (KFM) is looking for summer campaign fellows who want to experience a fast-paced, statewide political campaign. Strong applicants will have a passion for Democratic politics and be hard working, self-motivated, and willing to learn what it takes to run a successful political campaign.

Our goal is to provide KFM fellows the requisite skills and experience to join any top campaign’s field, finance, research, communications, and political operation. Additionally, fellows will have the opportunity to improve their public speaking, writing, and research abilities.

Examples of fellowship tasks include (but are not limited to):

  • Field: Fellows will engage in recruitment and management of volunteers, direct voter contact, organization of parade units, and learn the basics of the volunteer database (VAN).
  • Finance: Fellows will conduct donor research, learn the skills to plan and execute fundraisers, and gain knowledge of the finance database (NGP).
  • Research/Communications/Political: Fellows will work with staff on policy research, memo writing, news clips, social media, and event staffing skills.

We ask for a commitment of 15-20 hours per week. We are looking for fellows who can start in May or early June, but we are flexible with exact dates. This fellowship is unpaid, but we are happy to work with fellows to receive academic credit.

To apply, email: with a subject line of:

Please include: Two references, your resume, and a short explanation (no more than 1-2 paragraphs) of why you want to be a campaign fellow and what you hope to gain from this experience.
