Below are corrections my students and I have found for the 4th
edition. The next printing should have these included already. If you
find other errors, please let me know.
- p. xvii, title for Appendix A should be
Project 2003 not 2002
- p. 169, second para., line 2, insert the word
"work" after what. Same for definition of project scope management
on p. 198.
- p. 253, line 2, change “ratio of revenues to
profits” to “ratio of profits to revenues”
- p. 270 in the paragraph that begins 1. The
Planned Value, there is a reference to Table 7-3 that should be
Table 7-4.
- p. 271, Table 7-4, Change the last four values
in the second column (Week 1) to -10,000, -5,000, 33%, and 50%.
- p. 271, middle of page with earned value
calculations, change as follows
CV = 5,000 – 15,000 =
-10,000
SV = 5,000 – 10,000 =
-5,000
CPI = 5,000/15,000 = 33%
SPI = 5,000/10,000 = 50%
- p. 273, the term RV is used twice and it should be RP
- p. 273, in Figure 7-4, columns Q and R were cut off. Below are
their contents, starting in row 2 and ending in row 7. Also, cell R
14 should contain 43,333.

- p. 287, second last line, change definition of
profit margin to “the ratio of profits to revenues”
- p. 402, second last paragraph, line 6. Replace the incomplete
sentence with the following: “This section highlights a few areas
that all project managers and project team members should consider
in their quests to improve project communications.”
- First para. on the left side of the back of
the book: Change the last sentence to read “A new appendix provides
brief instructions on using the simulation software, and more
detailed instructions are included on the companion Web site.”
- p. C.8, Project Risk Management, item 1, change Table 11-6 to
11-5. Item 2, change Figure 11-6 to 11-4.
