Congratulations on your acceptance to Augsburg University!
We are excited that you have chosen to complete your degree at Augsburg, and to get you ready for the upcoming semester. Please review your next steps for a smooth transition to campus.
Set up Your Advising Appointment
Once admitted, you’ll receive an email from Academic Advising outlining your steps to get registered for classes, including scheduling your advising appointment and activating your student account (AugNet) so you can view your transfer credit evaluation online. During your appointment, an advisor will discuss placement tests and graduation requirements, establish an education plan, and help you register for courses. Questions? Contact Academic Advising at 612-330-1025.
If you are taking Education courses and you have a degree, call 612-330-1130 for your advising with the Education Department.
Registration open through January 5th for Spring term registration. The earlier you meet with an adviser, the better course selection will be.
Submit Your FAFSA and Contact Financial Aid
Are you planning to apply for financial aid? Complete the steps listed on the Student Financial Services webpage. If you want to be considered for scholarships only, please let your admission counselor know or email studentfinances@
Once we receive your FAFSA we will email you your financial aid award. The email will include instructions on how to schedule an appointment to review your financial aid award, and discuss loan or payment options. We recommend that all students check in with a financial aid counselor as Financial aid and billing are not the same at all colleges.
If you indicated your interest in housing on campus, your financial award will reflect this. If you later decide to live off-campus, your financial aid award will change.
Questions? Contact Student Financial Services at 612-330-1046.
Are You a Veteran or Military Student?
If so, please contact Tom Kelsey at 612-330-1038 or firstname.lastname@example.org to handle your VA paperwork.
Complete the Immunization Form
Immunization forms are required by the state of Minnesota and must be submitted to Augsburg before you can begin classes. A form is included in your admittance packet. You may also download an immunization form.
Attend New Student Orientation (NSO)
New Student Orientation will be held on Thursday, January 4th from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. for Spring term. You will receive additional information as orientation nears and vital information about college policies and procedures will be covered.
Purchase Your Parking Permit or Metro Pass
After you have registered for classes, you may register for your parking permit. You may view permit registration dates on the Department of Public Safety (DPS) website. Discounted Metro Transit Passes are also available at the Enrollment Center. Permits will be mailed two weeks before classes begin or can be picked up at NSO.
Apply for Your Access Fob
After you have registered for class, you may apply for your key fob which grants you access to your classrooms after 7 p.m., through the Department of Public Safety’s website. Fobs may be picked up at the Public Safety desk 24/7.
Order Your Books
The Augsburg University Barnes & Noble Bookstore is located in the Oren Gateway Center, and books are generally for sale or rent about a month prior to the term starting. To order books online or to view bookstore hours, visit the Bookstore webpage. Registered students can purchase books out of pocket or charge up to $600 to their student account. You do not need to submit a request. View additional bookstore information online.
Please contact your Admissions Counselor if you have any additional questions. We look forward to seeing you on campus!
