who illustrate Augsburg's commitment to non-discrimination, specifically
in the area of sexual orientation," should know about this scholarship,
established by Augsburg alumna Karen Neitge Holt. The 2000-2001 recipient
is Social Work Major Thomas Howard. Sociology Major Ann Mathews received
the award in 1998-99 and 1999-2000. The scholarship has also been
held by Adam Thronson (1997-98) and Angela Reu (1996-97).
The Karen Neitge Scholarship is awarded annually to
a student of any class or major, based upon academic achievement and
financial need. Preference is given to students who volunteer in the
community and/or on campus and who illustrate Augsburg's commitment
to non-discrimination, specifically in the area of sexual orientation.
The Neitge Scholarship was established in 1996 to honor all who have
