ACTFL: Modern Language

American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages

Augsburg students work with Academic Advising to determine eligibility for the exams offered by American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).

An advisor will assist a student to register for the appropriate oral and/or written examination in a qualifying language.  The student will be counseled on how to obtain the exam score, what the score means with regard to degree requirements, and how to request an ACE Registry of Credit transcript if necessary.

Augsburg grants credit for the following ACTFL examinations when a qualifying score is achieved.

For students taking both Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) and Writing Proficiency Test (WPT), the minimum score shown below is required on both exams for credit to be granted.
