HOW TO REGISTER

Transfer and Prerequisite Issues
Augsburg's student database should recognize the majority of course prerequisites on your record and allow you to register online.  This includes prerequisite courses that have been transferred from other institutions.  However if you encounter a prerequisite issue when trying to register for a course, come to the Enrollment Center for assistance.

The Enrollment Center is open Monday through Friday 8:30 AM  to 4:30 p.m., with extended hours to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursday.  Staff will process registrations with prerequisite and transfer issues.  Please complete your registration form in advance.

Make an appointment with your faculty advisor
After you meet with your faculty advisor, s/he will remove your ADVISORHOLD thus enabling your web registration.  Plan your schedule in advanced of web registration and select alternate choices in case a course is not available.

Registration for courses at other ACTC schools
To schedule a class at another ACTC school, your ACTC Registration Form should be signed and must be processed in-person at the Enrollment Center.  Please bring a website printout of the ACTC class you wish to register for and a printout of the course schedule when you register at the Enrollment Center.  Check the ACTC website for cross-registration policies.  If you have an ACTC major, please bring a copy of the agreement form.  Students will not be able to register for ACTC classes until the normal registration period opens at the other ACTC schools.  Students must be full-time in the DAY program to participate in the ACTC program.
After open ACTC registration ends, students must wait until the first day of the ACTC class, obtain the signature of the instructor, and then bring registration materials to the Enrollment Center at Augsburg.

These registrations cannot be completed online and must be processed at the Enrollment Center

  • THP courses (theatre practicum courses)
  • MUP1xx courses (variable credit music lessons)
  • Student Teaching (Education department approval required)
  • Independent Study and Directed Study (separate form needed; faculty and department chair signatures required)
  • Internship (separate form needed; faculty and Strommen Career & Internship Center signatures required)

Last Day of Initial Registration for Fall Semester is Friday, Augsburg 31, 2012*
*Student must be registered for at least one course by this deadline

Overload charges
Augsburg College charges for "overload" courses.  An overload course is defined as any class that brings your credit load to over 4.5 credits (this includes combining Day and WEC classes and audit only classes).  Course loads over the 4.5 normal credit load limit will incur an additional tuition charge.
