General Registration Policies

Registration changes not completed via AugNet will require a signed and dated Drop/Add Form to be processed in the Enrollment Center. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure required faculty signatures are obtained (for an override of a closed class or waive of a department pre-requisite).

Students are reminded to check the accuracy of their schedule via the “Records and Registration” portion of AugNet. Students should do so within the registration deadlines to allow for any adjustments necessary.

For All Students:

Former students readmitting to the College must complete the readmit process and register for at least one course by the initial registration deadline. Continuing students must register for at least one course by the initial registration deadline. Once the initial registration deadline for a term (semester or trimester) passes, if registration is allowed, there will be a $200 late registration fee assessed to your student account.

To petition for an exception to the published registration deadlines (adding, withdrawing, or change of grade option) requires a $50 petition fee submitted with the petition (check preferred). This fee will not apply to any petition other than to those that request a registration change after published deadlines. It is non-refundable. Students who are allowed to add a course by petition after the published petition deadline, will incur a $150 late registration fee per course.

Crossover Registration Policy

Updated November 2012

  • Every Augsburg undergraduate student is admitted to a “home program-Day/WEC.” Students may apply for a Change of Program no more than once each academic year and only by petition. Change of Program forms must be submitted along with a Student Standing Petition to the Registrar’s Office for consideration.  The Student Standing Petition fee of $50 is not required for this particular petition reason.
  • Students may register online for one or more courses per term outside of their home program. Enrollment will be based on class availability.
  • Students will be charged the rate of their home program for courses in which they enroll outside their home program. The rate will be based on the maximum credit load they are carrying on any calendar date over the span of the three terms. For example, a day program student taking 2.0 credits in the day program, and 1.0 credit in the WEC program, will be considered full-time and will be charged the full-time day program tuition rate. A WEC student taking 2.0 credits in the WEC program, and 1.0 credits in the day program, will pay the WEC tuition rate x 3.0 credits.
  • Day students who take more than 4.5 credits will pay the day part-time tuition rate for any credits over 4.5 in their combined Day/WEC load*. The maximum number of credits that may be included in the Day full-time tuition rate for students who cross-register is 4.5. *Combined Day/WEC load includes all courses in Spring Semester, Winter Trimester, and Spring Trimester
  • Students have registration priority in their home program.
  • The WEC program is not part of the Associated Colleges of the Twin Cities (ACTC) consortium. WEC students are not eligible to take ACTC courses on a crossover basis.  Day students would be allowed to register for crossover and ACTC courses.
  • International students (F-1) are required to be enrolled in the DAY program and may not enroll as WEC students.  The only exception is the BSN completion program in WEC, as this major is not offered in the day program.  International students are allowed to participate in crossover registration for specific courses as long as they continue to be full-time students within the DAY program.

Crossover Registration Dates*

  • Fall Semester Crossover Registration begins August 5, 2013
  • Spring Semester Crossover Registration begins December 4, 2013
