Housing Specialist Assistant (HSA)

The HSA provides leadership within the Department of Residence Life by assisting the Housing Specialist in supporting the mission of the department. The HSA has direct contact with current residents, prospective residents, and families as related to occupancy management and resident satisfaction. As a lead staff member, the HSA position is highly administrative located in an office setting requiring a 20-hour week commitment during the academic year and 40-hour week commitment during the summer months.

Resident Advisor (RA)

Residence Life student staff members at Augsburg College have many different roles. They are community builders, peer advisors, academic resource people, programmers, and administrators. RAs spend a significant amount of time getting to know residents as individuals and generating enthusiasm as they bring students together to create communities. RAs achieve this objective by aiding residents through implementing respectful, resourceful, and responsible activities, by fostering the growth of active student governance, by providing information about college resources, by informing residents about residence hall regulations, and facilitating the implementation of these regulations.

Residential Facilities Coordinator (RFC)

The RFC provides leadership within the Department of Residence Life with overall community programming, facilities management, policy creation, and projects for the residential areas. By working collaboratively with other RFCs and Central Staff members, the RFC provides overall leadership and direction for Residence Life in the student living areas. As a lead staff member, RFCs serve as a resource on campus while assisting the Residence Hall Director with community building, administrative, and organizational efforts to ensure the success, development, growth, and retention of students.

Residential Executive Coordinator (REC)

The REC provides leadership within the Department of Residence Life by assisting with the facilitation of development of a specific community. RECs have direct contact with residents living in the residence halls and as such play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the community. The REC works with the supervising Residence Hall Director to support the mission of the Department of Residence Life and Augsburg College. As a lead staff member, RECs serve as a resource on campus while assisting the Residence Hall Director with community building, administrative, and organizational efforts to ensure the success, development, growth, and retention of students.

Summer Resident Advisor (Summer RA)

Summer RAs work as a peer resource for students utilizing on-campus living during the summer months. The Summer RA position is highly administrative, and as such, the Summer RA’s primary role is to work with the central staff to manage projects and staff the central Residence Life office. The Summer RA typically works 20 hours a week, but may increase up due to projects and special events. The Summer RA works in part of an on-call rotation.

Summer Residential Facilities Coordinators (Summer RFC)

The Summer RFC provides leadership within the Department of Residence Life with overall community programming, facilities management, policy creation, and projects for the residential areas. By working collaboratively with Central Staff members, this individual provides overall leadership and direction for Residence Life in the student living areas occupied during the summer. As a lead staff member, the Summer RFC serves as a resource on campus while assisting the Summer Residence Life team with community building, administrative, and organizational efforts to ensure the success, development, growth, and retention of students. This position runs from May through September.
