Paying for your Education
For those who qualify, there are financial aid resources available to assist students with meeting the cost of college, including loans, scholarships, and grants. The Student Financial Services department works individually with students to help them understand financial options and payment plans. No matter what stage a student is in, we are here to help.
Grants and Scholarships
Military Tuition Grant
Augsburg offers a grant to Adult Undergraduate and Graduate students currently serving full- or part-time in any branch of the United States armed forces or veterans of any branch. For more detailed information, including additional VA benefit programs, visit the Military Support website. Please inform your admissions counselor of your service to receive this grant.
The Augsburg Partnership Grant applies to new enrolling students only and allows employees of partner institutions to receive a tuition discount in the form of a grant. Application fees of $35 are also waived. Partnership students will receive deferred tuition, meaning they are not required to make out-of-pocket payments on their tuition until 60 days after the end of the term.
AmeriCorps/Lutheran Services Corp Tuition Grant
The grant amount for the 2015-2016 Academic Year for the Adult Undergraduate program is $50.00 per credit. The grant amount for the 2015-2016 Academic Year for graduate programs is $80.00 per credit.
Students who receive a scholarship from their Lutheran congregation may receive a match in Augsburg scholarship dollars up to a maximum of $750 per year ($375 per term). This application and payment from the sponsoring organization should be submitted to Student Financial Services. Please make payment payable to Augsburg College.
American Indian Scholarships
American Indian students who meet federal, state, or tribal requirements may apply for special scholarships. Contact Augsburg’s American Indian Student Services program for more information.
Federal and State Grants
Students should apply for financial aid (submit their FAFSA) to determine eligibility for additional need based grants. The college provides Financial Aid Instructions to assist with the process.
