How We Work

Augsburg's Center for Service, Work, and Learning plays an integral role in your overall education and helps to prepare you to make meaningful contributions to our communities, businesses, government, families, and the world. At the same time, Augsburg offers almost limitless opportunities for you to gain concrete on-the-job and community service experience and has developed partnerships with community organizations and employers that provide learning opportunities to students, many of which fulfill the Augsburg Experience requirement for graduation.

AugPost: This web-based service allows alumni and students to connect about employment and volunteer opportunities. It also provides a list of opportunity-related events taking place.

• Community Service-Learning: In all academic disciplines, Augsburg students learn about community issues through course-based service-learning and other service and volunteer opportunities with Twin Cities organizations and schools.
• Campus Kitchen: The Campus Kitchen at Augsburg College (CKAC) is a unique, student-led program that brings together student, faculty, and staff volunteers, the campus food service, local food banks, and neighborhood community organizations to utilize surplus food to meet hunger and nutritional needs in our neighborhood.
• Internships: More than 60% of Augsburg students participate in internships and work-learning experiences that combine classroom theory with practice.
• Career Planning: The center offers career assessments and career coaching to help students choose among career fields or graduate education. The CSWL also provides job and internship search resources.
