I went to another school in Minnesota, where I got into a lot of trouble, academically and legally. I ended up going through treatment, and that was where I heard about StepUP. I was ready to change my life, and I knew I couldn’t go back to the school where I had been, so I wound up here. It’s true that everyone here has had their past -- drinking and drug use that led to total haavoc. But it’s what you’re doing now that matters more than anything else. We have our war stories, but it’s what you’re doing now to change, and the person you’ve become now, that’s important. This is a great community. I know that I wouldn't have been able to graduate from college if it weren’t for StepUP. I know that for sure. And now, as an admissions counselor at Augsburg, I assist with recruiting for the StepUP program. - Chris Belbeck was in StepUP from September 2002 to May 2006

We, the students of the StepUP Program, represent a vast array of experience, talent, and challenge. We have been brought together by the common problem of addiction, but this could not unite our lives as tightly as the remarkable solution that now binds us together. These are some of our thoughts on life in the StepUP Program.
