The StepUP Program Resources
The program seeks to help students cultivate academic and recovery skills. To accomplish this objective, the program offers the following services:
Academic
- Assistance with the admissions process to the College, applying for financial aid, and course selection
- Academic advising in such areas as course selection, choosing a major, choosing a faculty adviser, and meeting graduation requirements
- Close working relationship with the CLASS office and Tutoring Center
Sober Living
- 2 floors in the Oren Gateway Center that provide kitchen, dining room, and living room as well as both single and double bedrooms
- Weekly one-on-one meetings with a licensed CD counselor to discuss recovery and school related issues
- Relationship with The Office of Counseling and Health Promotion
- 4 student Floor Managers who help enforce the contract and advocate for student needs
- Contract (PDF) that helps the community and its individual members maintain healthy recovery
- Weekly community meetings to discuss business and living issues
- Opportunities for service to the program and the larger community
