Interested in exploring career options and where you may find meaningful work?
Consider taking our .5 credit Career Course – Meaningful Work: Linking Education,Vocation & Career Exploration. For the 2012-2013 school year we are offering the course in Spring 2013.
“This course will introduce students to the nature of work and its role and value to the individual and to society and provide the strategies and skills necessary for a lifetime of career-related decision making, meaningful work and active citizenship. The course is geared to both students who are undecided and students who are seeking an in-depth look at a chosen personal life and career path.”
Objectives of this course include:
* To provide an overview of career development and planning and career fields
* To increase self-awareness of personality, strengths, interests, skills, values, passions and make applications to career paths and meaningful work
* To explore various work cultures and engage with industry leaders
* To learn effective strategies in preparing for, finding and successfully maintaining meaningful work
