Pathways to Careers in the Social Science Areas

Augsburg students are invited to attend the Pathways to Careers in the Social Science Areas on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 2:45-6:00 p.m.  The event will be held at the University of St. Thomas – Anderson Student Center, St. Paul, MN. This event is sponsored by the MN Private Colleges Career Consortium.  Registration fee – $10.

2:45 – 3:05 p.m. – Registration-Registration Details

3:05 – 3:20 p.m. – Welcome

3:25 - 4:10 p.m. – 1st Break-out session

4:15 – 5:00 p.m. – 2nd Break-out session

5:00 – 6:00 p.m. – Reception with alumnae/alumni

Break-Out Sessions

Students will have the choice of attending two of the four sessions listed below. Each session will have 3-5 MPCCC alums with experience in that topic area.  Students will receive a handout with these topic areas, alum speakers and room locations the day of the event.  Here are the 4 topic areas covered this year:

  • Criminal Justice/Protective Services
  • Government (Urban Planning, Policy, Administration)
  • Human Services (Direct Service)
  • Non-Profits (Administrative)

How To Get To The Event

Students are encouraged to car pool to the event or take the ACTC bus.   According to the  ACTC bus schedule it stops at Augsburg at 1:43 and 2:28.  The last shuttle leaves UST at 5:28.  Strommen Center staff may be available to take a few students in our own vehicles.  Please inquire if you are in need of transportation.  For driving directions click here.
