Clean Air Policy
Augsburg College is an educational institution that appreciates and endorses a healthy environment for its students, staff, faculty, guests, and community.
- Smoking is prohibited in all indoor facilities, including residence halls.
- Smoking is permitted only in designated outside areas.
Those who smoke are also responsible for properly disposing of cigarette butts.
The success of this policy will depend on the thoughtfulness, consideration, and cooperation of smokers and non-smokers. Everyone shares the responsibility for adhering to and enforcing the policy. In all cases the right of the non-smoker to protect her or his health and comfort will take precedence over a smoker’s desire to smoke. (See also Smoking Policy)
