My name is Juventino Meza and I am an incumbent senator. I'm a junior majoring in Sociology, Justice and Peace Studies. I'm the longest standing senator from the class of 2011. I am involved in various other things including the founding of the Allied Latina/os in Augsburg Students (ALAS) and the Privacy Task Force. Outside of Augsburg I volunteer with NAVIGATE, a student-led program assisting immigrant students who face economic, social, and legal barriers when attempting to enter college. The favorite things I've done at Augsburg so far have been to intern for Representative Carlos Mariani in the spring and fall of 2009 interning for the Citizen League. In the summer of 2009 I did research with Augsburg President Paul Pribbenow on the Relationship between Augsburg and the Ceder-Riverside community. I enjoy Student Senate because my voice is hears and valued. and I hope that this year we can listen and work with the rest of the community and increase civic engagement at Augsburg College.
