Norwegian Students Who Want to Study Social Work at Augsburg Velkommen! THe BSW Program each year receives students from Norway to study social work in America. Students come from schools in Harstad, Bergen, Oslo, Trondheim, and Molde. You may be acquainted with someone who has spent a term here in Minneapolis. The International Partners Program, headed by Dr. Nadia Christensen, is often the first contact for students seeking to come to Minnesota. After you are admitted as an international student, your time at Augsburg is coordinated by the Office of International Programs, the International Partners Program and the Social Work Department (which handles your academic and field work). Norwegian students after being accepted into the Social Work Department, need to complete a required information form to be used by the Social Work Department to establish the student's human services experience (and interests) and thus make a proper internship placement. We want the study done at Augsburg to truly add to the career experience of our Norwegian students. Norwegian students will have an Orientation to the Program within two weeks of their arrival to receive an overview of the program, an explanation of which departments to approach with concerns, and a general question and answer session. Norwegian students questions about their field work will be handled by the BSW Field Coordinator. Other program issues will be addressed by the BSW Program Director or Department Chair. General
