The College's Official Means of Communication
Every Augsburg student, staff member and faculty member is provided with an official Augsburg email account. Augsburg email addresses follow the format of the username followed by “@augsburg.edu” (username@augsburg.edu)
The College has designated the Augsburg email account as an official means of communication. This means that important information that you are required to know (such as billing policy changes, holds on accounts, etc.) might be sent via Augsburg email. Students are responsible for all information sent to their college-provided account.
AugNet WebmailYou can use your Augsburg email on the web through the Inside Augsburg home page. Just log in under "AugNet Services" on the left side, then click "WebMail" after you're logged in. For help using Webmail, look at our instructions for using AugNet Webmail.
Email OptionsYou may choose to do the following things with your e-mail account:
- Forward your mail to another address
- Set up an automated bounce-back message
- Change the settings on your spam filter
- Subscribe to mailing lists
- Set up another e-mail program to connect to your Augsburg email
The size limit for e-mail messages (including attachments) delivered to Augsburg addresses is 10MB. For group mailing lists, the size limit is 100KB. As a general rule, you should keep messages as small as possible. If you need to share a large file, it's better to save the file in your "public" or "www" folder and e-mail a link to the file.
All messages in your INBOX that are more than 180 days old will automatically be deleted. To learn more about this quota, click here.
Campus e-mail listsThere are four main mailing lists used to transmit information to the Augsburg community. These lists are moderated by staff members so that "spam" and other inappropriate messages are not passed along to the community through these lists. For information about what lists are available, and a description of how to submit messages to the lists, please view the Mailing List Guidelines page.
