Attaching a file to an e-mail message
Once you have begun composing a new e-mail message, you can attach files to that message.
First, click the "Attachments" button on the left side of the message composition window to open the Attachments utility.
The Attachments utility will open in a new window. (Look at the image in Step 1 to see what the Attachments utility looks like).
In the Attachments utility, there are three steps to follow to add attachments to your message.
- Step 1: Select a file. Click the [Browse...] button.
A window will appear that allows you to select a file from your computer. Select the file you want to attach, then click [Open] or [OK] to confirm the location of the file. When you're finished, the location of your file will appear in the text box. (Look at the image in Step 2 to see what this will look like).
- Step 2: Attach the file. Click the [Attach File] button. The selected file will be copied into Webmail and attached to your e-mail message. When the process is finished, the name and size of your file will be displayed in the lower part of the Attachments utility. (Look at the image in Step 3 to see what this will look like).
- Repeat if desired. If you want to attach more files to the same message, go through steps 1 and 2 again to add the additional files. As you add them, their names and sizes will be added to the listing in the lower part of the
Attachments utility.
- Step 3: Exit the Attachments utility. When you've finished adding files, click the [Done] button to close the Attachments utility and return to your message composition window.
Now that you have attached files, the attached files will be listed in the "Attachments" field in the message composition window.
