David DeBlieck teaches Creative Drama, Introduction to Dance, and Modern Dance & Improvisation. He also choreographs many of the department’s stage productions and in 2006, directed Exceptionally Ordinary, a movement-based production created in collaboration with the cast.
David is Artistic Director of Wicked Sister Dance Theatre where he teaches aerial and acrobatic arts as well as choreographing works on original physical structures. He has performed with Hijack, Gerry Girouard and Dancers, and as a guest artist and aerial choreographer with IONA Contemporary Dance Theatre in Honolulu. He is a member of Red Eye’s critical core and has choreographed the company’s recent productions of The Swim and Patty Red Pants. David is a recent recipient of the Jerome Foundation Travel & Study Grant and the MN State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant.
