TRiO/SSS Scholarships

Photo TRIO students from Summer Bridge picnicAll students must attend one scholarship meeting in 2008-2009 to learn scholarship terms, complete a Scholarship Agreement Form, and complete all required activities by the last day of classes (not finals!) for the term in which the scholarship is awarded.  Failure to complete scholarship requirements will exclude students from receiving the TRIO/SSS scholarship for the term in question.

Additional scholarship requirements are as follows:

  • Submit a copy of the current Augsburg Financial Aid Award (letter) with the Scholarship Agreement Form (1 time in 2008-2009)
  • Complete an Educational Action Plan (EAP) by September 24, 2008 (for Fall 2008 award) or January 30, 2009 (for Spring 2009 award)
  • Complete or update a Long-Term Plan (LTP) by the last day of class (not finals!) for the term
  • Meet with your TRIO/SSS advisor a minimum of three times per term (DAY Students) or a minimum of two times per term (WEC Students) to discuss academic progress, financial issues, EAP and/or other updates
  • Participate in a minimum of two TRIO/SSS workshops (or other TRIO/SSS approved workshops, e.g., Study Abroad Fair, CSWL Workshop) per term. In the spring, one of these workshops must be a “dollar/sense” workshop hosted by the Financial Aid office.  Any non-TRIO, non-“dollar/sense” workshops require a write-up that must be submitted or turned in on or before the last day of class (not finals!).
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 term GPA or a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
  • Be a full-time student as determined by the Registrar’s Office during term of scholarship award.
  • Register for the upcoming term on time by the college online registration deadline.  The college calendar has more specific information about registration.
  • Renew the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the priority deadline of April 15, 2009 (for Spring 2009 award).
  • Continued active participation in the TRIO/SSS program while enrolled at Augsburg College.
  • All scholarship recipients must receive a Pell Grant as part of their 2008-2009 Financial Aid Award.
