Aly Olson, brick background

Aly Olson, Director

Aly Olson has directed TRIO/SSS at Augsburg College since funding was first awarded from the U.S. Department of Education in 2001. Before coming to Augsburg, Aly was an academic advisor for 8 years with TRIO/SSS at the University of Minnesota General College. Originally from Iowa, Aly earned a B.A. in Spanish and psychology from Grinnell College. She has an M.A. in Educational Psychology: Counseling and Personnel Psychology from the University of Minnesota. She has participated in many TRIO and U.S. ED trainings including the MAEOPP Emerging Leader Institute in 2000. She is past president of MnTRIO, the state professional association of TRIO program personnel.

Aly is TRIO advisor for transfer students in TRIO/SSS.

Kevin Cheatham, ivory background

Kevin Cheatham, Academic Advisor

Kevin Cheatham has been an Academic Advisor with TRIO/SSS since fall 2006. Prior to coming to Augsburg, Kevin spent thirteen years as Academic Advisor and Program Coordinator with the St. Olaf College TRIO/Upward Bound program. He is a graduate from the University of Minnesota General College Upward Bound program. Kevin holds a B.A. in Asian Studies from St. Olaf College, and a Master of Arts in Leadership from Augsburg College.

Luis Delgado, Academic Advisor

Luis Player-Delgado's career in higher education has spanned the past 17 years, ten of which have involved working with TRiO programs. Prior to coming to Augsburg in 2005, he was a stay-at-home dad after being an Academic Advisor for the Starting Point/SSS program at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. He later served as the program's director. In addition to advising TRiO students, Luis coaches 19U baseball during the summer and fall. His teams have reached postseason play the past five seasons, winning the Minnesota State Connie Mack championship in 2004 and Senior Babe Ruth South District titles in 2006 and 2007.
