MC-2016-TEST

Join us for the 2016 Mayor’s Challenge Event, hosted by TPT MN at their Saint Paul location, in partnership with Civic Eagle.

Your phone could be the world’s first unbreakable lock; should the government have a master key? Join us, as our debaters will present the 2015-2016 NSDA topic – Resolved: The United Stated Federal Government should dramatically curtail it’s domestic surveillance.

Students from Minneapolis – Hodan Osman (Edison High School) and Malik Akintola (Roosevelt High School) will debate against students from Saint Paul – Ella Harker (Como High School) and Carlos Alderete (Johnson High School) about whether or not the FBI should have tried to compel Apple to open a backdoor into its phone. We’re proud to announce that Mayor Coleman will lead the Judges panel, along with other VIP officials, who will weigh in on the decision.

Our special partnership with Civic Eagle – a new app focused on connecting civic engagement with social life, and TPT allows us to give one of our favorite events a fresh new approach. But don’t worry, the best part is still front and center –our amazing students.
