Join us for the 2016 Mayor’s Challenge Event, hosted by TPT MN at their Saint Paul location, in partnership with Civic Eagle.
Your phone could be the world’s first unbreakable lock; should the government have a master key? Join us, as our debaters present the 2015-2016 NSDA topic – Resolved: The United Stated Federal Government should dramatically curtail it’s domestic surveillance.
Students from Minneapolis – Hodan Osman (Edison High School) and Malik Akintola (Roosevelt High School) will debate against students from Saint Paul – Ella Harker (Como High School) and Carlos Alderete (Johnson High School) about whether or not the FBI should have tried to compel Apple to open a backdoor into its phone.
We’re proud to announce that Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman will lead the Judges Panel as they weigh in on the day’s decision.
Joining the VIP panel: James Burroughs – Minnesota Chief Inclusion Officer, Margaret Anderson Kelliher – President & CEO of the Minnesota High Tech Association and Professor Mark Kappelhoff – Associate Clinical Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota Law School.
Our special partnership with Civic Eagle – a new app focused on connecting civic engagement with social life, and TPT allows us to give one of our favorite events a fresh new approach. But don’t worry, the best part is still front and center –our amazing students.
