Scholarship decisions are based on need, with commitment to the activity taken heavily into consideration. Students receiving scholarship funds will be expected to participate in tournaments and practices throughout the school year. The purpose of scholarships is to improve debate throughout Minnesota and its surrounding regions. Scholarship applications are due by April 15th, 2013!
2013 MDAW Application with Scholarship
Minnesota OHE Information
The Minnesota Office of Higher Education has renewed its Summer Academic Enrichment program for 2013 summer camps! The Summer Academic Enrichment program will provide stipends on a first-come, first-serve basis, to cover all or a portion of the direct cost for students in grades 3-11 to attend eligible summer academic enrichment programs during the summer of 2013.
If you qualify, be sure to apply ASAP!
Here is the information that you need to know – the sooner we get students signed up the better – once the money is gone, it is gone. Last year it was used up by April – so please help us get the word out.
- Students must be a MN resident
- Students must be eligible for Free or Reduced Lunch
- Students must have a minimum of a C average
Students who believe they are eligible should email Amy Cram Helwich to get them signed up for the grant. Students/families are also asked to pay a $25 fee, as the grant does not cover the entire cost of 2 weeks at camp; those that can not afford the fee will be asked to pay what they can or even have the fee waived if needed. We want to get as many kids to camp as possible.
Important! Students who are seeking financial aid for camp but who are not free/reduced lunch eligible should apply on our standard form here, (Scholarship section begins on page 8) Those applications are due on April 15th.
