Contacting my student
If you need to contact or find your student during camp, please contact our main office at 612-330-1730.
Students are permitted to bring cell phones, but we ask that they do not allow them to become distracting. Also, it is helpful to note that though you may contact your student at will, cell service can be spotty in some of the older buildings.
All staff have undergone a background check by Augsburg University and residential staff are on the premises and in the dorms at all times. Dormitory access is limited to camp staff, residents, and University personnel. Students will receive key card access upon arrival, and we will ensure access for commuting students as well.
Campus security maintains 24-hour surveillance of the campus. They can be reached at 612-330-1717 if there is an emergency.
You may also call the MDAW office 612-330-1730 for help as well.
What to Wear
Casual attire is entirely appropriate. Please be sure to pack comfortable shoes. It also gets hot, especially in the dorm. However, in other parts of campus Augsburg has a variety of air-conditioning options for buildings, so layers are a good idea.
We encourage students to bring a laptop if one is available. Ready access to one’s own computer greatly facilitates research and block writing. All debaters will have access to institute and Augsburg University computers during the workshop.
Parents and guardians are welcome to visit their child and sit in on programming at any time.
Yes, you can pick-up your child early from camp if necessary. We just ask that if parents are picking up their student early or dropping off late, please schedule this 24-hours in advance by contacting Genesia Williams at 612-330-1730 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
