Transferring to Augsburg

Whether you are transferring recently earned credits or are returning to college after many years away, we are happy to work with you to make sure you receive the most credits possible for your previous learning.

Historically, the traditional, or “day,” student body welcomes more than 200 new transfer students each year, while the Weekend College program sees approximately 90% of its students enter with past college experience.

At Augsburg, transfer students are highly valued. This is reflected in our careful attention to transfer students through the application process, including offering you a free one-on-one credit evaluation. For transfer students entering the day program, we have a special orientation program and academic scholarship program designed just for you. For those returning to college after years in the workforce, we offer an opportunity for you to earn credit based on your life experience.

Request Your Transcript from Your Institution

Augsburg generally accepts transfer credit from other institutions accredited by the Higher Learning Commission that offer courses leading to an Associate of Arts or Bachelor of Arts degree. Augsburg also considers the grade earned in the course in deciding whether to accept it in transfer; students must earn a grade of “C” or better in order for a course to be accepted in transfer at Augsburg. This indicates that the student mastered the basic material in the course.
