Whoever you are, you’re welcome here
Welcome to the Anne Pederson Women’s Resource Center! We offer services and programming specifically for women, but this is a space that is open to anyone—whether or not you’re a woman, whether or not you’re a feminist, and whether or not you take Women’s Studies classes. Come on in, heat up your lunch in the microwave, check out our books and magazines, lounge on the sofa and chat with friends, or work on your paper in the seminar room.
Programming and Resources
The WRC is a great place to study or relax between classes, but we’re more than that. The WRC provides free condoms, free pregnancy tests, and emergency pads and tampons. We can also tell you where you can find emergency contraception, free birth control, and a full range of pregnancy options. We sponsor programming during the year on safer sex, birth control, and on sexual assault. Our goal is to promote safe and healthy sexuality for all students.
We also provide space for breastfeeding moms to pump and store milk. Contact brownad@augsburg.edu to make arrangements.
The WRC is the home of the Student Feminist Collective. We plan a variety of activities during the year, including a Brown Bag Lunch Series, a Feminist Film Series, a production of The Vagina Monologues, and the Koryne Horbal Lecture (past speakers have included Gloria Steinem, Robin Morgan, Jane Fonda, Winona LaDuke, Alicia Cabezudo, and The Guerrilla Girls). Whether you want to volunteer occasionally or to be an intern, we welcome your talents! Please contact us, friend us on Facebook, or come to one of our organizational meetings.
