I want to go to a healthcare professional program after graduation – who should I talk to for information?

You can always discuss this with your faculty or academic advisor, they may be able to advise on this experience with students. However, it is very important that you connect with URGO’s Health Professions Specialist and start exploring the Pre-Health Science Advising. Academic Advising has a list of typical prerequisite for our most common healthcare programs.

Choosing your major

Your major is your specialized area of study. Beyond general college requirements, you’ll also take a group of courses in a subject of your choosing.

Choosing a college major can be hard. Some students have known what they wanted to be since they were kids; others still aren’t sure. It’s okay to enter college as an undecided major. You have time to figure it out and you can change your mind! You have the opportunity to try out classes you think you might enjoy and classes you’ve never been exposed to before.

Studies find that most students change majors at least once and many students switch several times. No matter what year you’re in, sometimes the major you declare doesn’t end up being the right one. If you decide to change your major, make sure the credits you need align with your expected graduation date. Your advisor and the Career Center can help you with this process.
