Unlike many public institutions, Augsburg\u2019s program does not limit eligibility to American Indian students who live in the state. The program defines \u201cAmerican Indian\u201d as an enrolled member of any federally recognized American Indian tribe, Alaskan Native Village or a first- or second-generation descendant status of an enrolled or tribal verified member.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and any associated required documentation for each academic year they are enrolled before August 1st. For eligible students with family incomes under $150,000, the program will cover all remaining tuition and fees after federal, state and institutional gift aid has been applied. The program will cover 100% of unmet need (defined as tuition and standard fees minus the Student Aid Index (SAI) from the FAFSA) for eligible students with family incomes above $150,000. Students can apply other external scholarships or financial aid toward costs such as housing, meals, transportation, and books. The Program is renewable for up to eight full-time fall and spring terms for traditional undergraduate students, or until degree requirements are completed for adult degree completion students. Students needing additional time beyond 8 semesters will be reviewed proactively by the enrollment management team and American Indian Student Services to consider any extension.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To be eligible, prior to matriculating students must provide evidence of being an enrolled member of any federally recognized American Indian tribe, Alaskan Native Village or a first- or second-generation descendant status of an enrolled or tribal verified member or provide written responses describing your interest in American Indian history, culture, challenges and issues to connect, celebrate, and cultivate.\u00a0 Augsburg reserves the right to cap the number of Full Tuition scholarships in any year due to available funds budgeted.
