Graduates of the DNP-FNP track of study will be eligible to apply for certification through the following professional organizations:<\/p>\n

Time to Completion<\/h2>\n
Students study full-time (6 or more semester credits per term, including summers). \u00a0Students who have a BSN (or a BAN) degree, can complete their program of study in 4 years.<\/p>\n
Classes and Class Format<\/h2>\n
DNP-FNP courses are all offered using a variety of hybrid formats – immersion in a cultural context, online, in person, video-conferencing, etc. In general, one\u2019s physical presence in class is required at least once or twice per month. Classes are held on Augsburg\u2019s campus in Minneapolis.<\/p>\n
Classes taught in an immersion format off-campus and abroad are optional, however, students are highly encouraged to enroll in these life-transforming experiences. (See: study abroad<\/a>).<\/p>\n
Semester Credit Hours in the Post-BSN to DNP-FNP<\/h2>\n
Students matriculating into the DNP program with a BSN or BAN degree will complete a minimum of 80 semester credit hours, including:<\/p>\n

- 52 didactic credit hours: (19) one to three semester credit hour courses<\/li>\n
- 24 practicum credit hours: 1080 \u2018clock\u2019 hours of practicum\/clinical<\/li>\n
- 4 seminar credit hours:\u00a0 4 one-semester credit hour seminar courses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Practica and Integrative Primary Care Clinicals<\/h2>\n
Practica are offered in a variety of transcultural settings, including outpatient clinics, healing centers and other emerging care settings in communities locally and globally<\/a>.\u00a0 Of the 24 semester credit hours of practicum, 765 \u2018clock\u2019 hours focus on integrative patient care (primary care, children, women, geriatric health)<\/p>\n

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master\u2019s degree program in nursing, and Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Augsburg University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http:\/\/www.ccneaccreditation.
