April 3: Rochester classes canceled

Due to hazardous weather and travel conditions today, April 3, Augsburg University has canceled classes at its Rochester location. Faculty are encouraged to make arrangements to meet with their students via Zoom or other methods. Students are encouraged to consult the course Moodle site for additional information and alternative coursework from their instructors.

Although classes in Rochester are canceled, Augsburg is not suspending normal operations. Employees should coordinate schedules and work arrangements with their supervisors as needed while ensuring everyone’s safety.

March 5 on-campus classes canceled – Minneapolis and Rochester

Due to hazardous weather and travel conditions today, March 5, Augsburg University has canceled classes that begin after 3 p.m. in its Minneapolis location and has moved scheduled Rochester classes to online. Faculty with labs that start earlier than 3 p.m. but continue past 3 p.m. are encouraged to end early. Students are encouraged to consult the course Moodle site for additional information and alternative coursework from their instructors.

Although classes are canceled, Augsburg is not suspending normal operations. Employees should coordinate schedules and work arrangements with their supervisors as needed while ensuring safety.

Timely Notice Bulletin: Robbery, Feb. 23, 2018

In compliance with the Timely Notice provision of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 Augsburg University Department of Public Safety is giving notice of a concerning incident that occurred outside of the Lindell Library on the Minneapolis Campus.

REPORTED OFFENSE:  Robbery
On Friday, Feb. 23, 2018 at 2:10 p.m., a robbery occurred behind Lindell Library. A staff member was approached from behind and had what appeared to be a gray-colored handgun pointed at them. The suspect took the victim’s bags and asked if they had any money. When told no, the suspect ran northbound on 21st Avenue South toward Riverside Avenue.

SUSPECT (as described by victim):
Black male, 5’8″, thin build, late teens/early 20s, wearing black or navy jacket with hood, sagging blue jeans with white boxers visible

STATUS:  This incident remains under investigation by the Minneapolis Police Department and the Augsburg University Department of Public Safety. Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is urged to contact MPD or Augsburg DPS at 612-330-1717.
