In compliance with the \u201cTimely Warning\u201d provision of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, Augsburg University Department of Public Safety (DPS) is giving notice of a concerning incident that occurred, as reported below, Parking Lot B.<\/p>\n

Reported Offense: Motor Vehicle Tampering<\/h3>\n

On August 25th at approximately 6:25 AM DPS received a report of a vehicle break-in in Lot B.\u00a0 The report was made by an Augsburg employee who, while walking through the lot, saw the damage to the vehicle.\u00a0 DPS responded and documented the damage and took photos.\u00a0 It was later learned that there were two additional vehicles broken into in Lot B.\u00a0 Minneapolis Police along with their Forensic Lab processed the vehicles.<\/p>\n

Status<\/h3>\n

DPS and the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) are currently investigating this incident. Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is urged to contact MPD (911) or Augsburg DPS at 612-330-1717.<\/p>\n

DPS is grateful to the members of the Augsburg community who promptly called 612-330-1717 to notify DPS of this incident. Please report any and all concerns that may impact our campus community.     Keep your head up and always be aware of your surroundings.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Don\u2019t leave valuables in your vehicle.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Notify Augsburg Public Safety or the Minneapolis Police immediately of any suspicious or dangerous activity. Do not assume someone else will make a report.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    If you are being harassed, go to a public place and ask someone to call Augsburg Public Safety or 911.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Do not sit or walk with your phone\/laptop out.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    If approached in your vehicle by someone you do not know, do not open doors or roll down windows.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Be aware of campus resources and support one another<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
