African American Studies – La Shauna Aningo

Shauna Aningo is a high school social studies teacher at Clayton High School in Clayton, Missouri. Actively shaping the minds of students, she has been involved in the successful implementation of the new AP African American Studies pilot. Shauna currently teaches World and US History II and AP African American Studies.

Shauna holds a BA in psychology, a MS.Ed. in Educational Psychology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction in Secondary Social Studies from Concordia University Portland. Prior to teaching at Clayton High School, Shauna taught at Normandy High School, St. Louis Community College at the Meramec campus, and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

Beyond the classroom, Shauna is a mother of seven and a lover of African American history, reading, dancing, and learning.
