{"id":48491,"date":"2019-11-13T15:09:31","date_gmt":"2019-11-13T15:09:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/faculty\/?page_id=48491"},"modified":"2022-11-09T16:08:33","modified_gmt":"2022-11-09T16:08:33","slug":"leverone","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/faculty\/leverone\/","title":{"rendered":"Leverone, Jil"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Biography<\/h2>\n<p>Dr. Leverone was an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Psychology Program at the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University from 2009 until its closing in 2019.\u00a0She has continued to teach at St. Mary\u2019s University of MN in Minneapolis as an adjunct full professor since 1987.\u00a0In addition, Dr. Leverone maintains a private practice with a specialization in integrative health and trauma utilizing mindfulness and EMDR. She has been licensed by the Board of Psychology since 1986.\u00a0\u00a0Dr. Leverone continues to provide training throughout the Twin Cities area focusing on a variety of topics including children and trauma, mindfulness and psychotherapy, adoption, and LGBTQ+ issues.\u00a0\u00a0She has served on the boards for Minnesota Women in Psychology and the Midwest Meditation and Psychotherapy Institute.\u00a0\u00a0She has most recently served as a member of the MN Psychological Association\u2019s Ethics Committee until 2019.<\/p>\n<h2>Education<\/h2>\n<p>Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Cincinnati in 1985<\/p>\n<p>MAEd from the University of Cincinnati<\/p>\n<p>BA from Miami University<\/p>\n<h2>Research Interests<\/h2>\n<p><em>Content Areas<\/em>:\u00a0 Trauma: sexual abuse and assault; physical and domestic abuse; poor attachment; effects and treatment;\u00a0assessment and treatment of multicultural populations;\u00a0spirituality and psychotherapy &#8211; mindfulness, mind\/body, integration of spirituality into psychotherapy;\u00a0chemical dependency: diagnostic and treatment considerations within a psychotherapeutic framework; secondary trauma: vicarious retraumatization, burnout, self care.<\/p>\n<p><em>Research Methodology<\/em>: Varied<\/p>\n<p><em>Population(s)<\/em>:\u00a0 Children, adolescents and families, adults.
