College Access Program Partnership

Graduating Student With Faculty Members

The College Access Program Partnership can help your dream of earning a college degree become a reality.

These programs recognize students who participate in a college-readiness program such as pre-college TRiO programs, MEP, College Possible, Urban Debate League, and AVID in several ways.  Please see below for a complete list of our participating programs.

Guaranteed Admission:

If you are currently involved in one of our participating College Access Programs, you will be offered guaranteed admission to the University by meeting the following criteria:

  • Cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.75
  • Application submitted by December 1st, 2021

You must thoroughly complete all sections of your application, request to have supplemental materials sent in (i.e. official transcripts), and continue to meet satisfactory academic progress during your senior year of high school.

College Access Program Scholarship

All students that are currently involved in one of our participating College Access Programs will be awarded a minimum scholarship award upon acceptance of $20,000 per year for up to four years.

Transfer students are also eligible for the College Access Program Scholarship if they participate in TRiO/Student Support Services programs while enrolled in a post-secondary institution. Students must be accepted to Augsburg University and provide documentation of participation in a college readiness program in order to receive this benefit.

Augsburg Promise Grant

Another component of the College Access Program Partnership is the Augsburg Promise Grant.  Incoming first year students will receive the total cost of tuition and standard fees (does not include room, board, or books) through scholarships and grants if they meet the following criteria:

  • Cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.25
  • Pell Grant eligible
  • Participation in a college-readiness program
  • Resident of Minnesota and a graduate of a Minnesota high school
  • Living on campus is not required, but is strongly encouraged

Augsburg Promise Scholars must submit the enrollment deposit waiver form by May 1st, 2022.

Participating Programs

College Access Program Partnership qualifying organizations represent a diverse group of voluntary enrollment programs which both prepare students to succeed in college and continue to provide support to their program alumni while they are enrolled at Augsburg.  If your organization is interested in becoming a College Access Program partner, please call 612-330-1001 or email to learn more about the partnership requirements.
