Hli Vang was born and raised in Wisconsin and relocated to Minnesota in 2010. She has over a decade of professional experience utilizing high impact educational practices for diverse populations in both academic and student affairs with strong emphasis on Asian American students. Hli identify herself as an Hmong-American.

Hli is a mother of 3, a caretaker, sister, aunt, daughter, wife and duties as assigned ;). She enjoys traveling and quality time with her family and friends. She loves Kapoon (Southeast Asian red curry) soup and believes in life long learning!

Thin Thin Kaing(Khine)

Hometown: Umpieum Refugee Camp, Thailand

Thin Thin is currently a senior, double majoring in International Business and Management. She graduated from Harding High school in 2019. She was born and raised in refugee camp and moved to MN in 2014. Thin Thin tries her best to give back to her community and is very involved with her on campus. She served as the first year class senator(2019-2020), Incumbent senator(2020-2021), and the finance chair(2022) for the Augsburg Day Student Government. She also served as the Outreach Coordinator for Augsburg Asian Student Association during her sophomore year. Other working at Pan Asian Student Services, she works at the Augsburg Department of Public Safety as a dispatcher. 

Outside of school activities and work, Thin Thin enjoys spending alone time with her cats and her sisters. She likes trying out new restaurants and shops with her sisters.Thin Thin listens to true crime podcasts and watches K-dramas when she has free time.

 

Zaj Lee

Hometown: Saint Paul, Minnesota

Zaj (22), pronounced Zah, is a 5th year student who recently changed Major from Computer Science to Management Information Systems (MIS). He is also a part of College Possible and the Genesys Works Talent Development Pipeline (TDP) program. Zaj has had a strong connection with PASS being both a Mentee during his first year and a Mentor in his third year. He decided to pursue becoming a PASS Co-Intern to pass on his knowledge of how previous interns conducted the program-along with his experiences in the Augsburg Asian Student Association (AASA) (2019-2020) to help peer advise AASA and Hmong Women Together (HWT). He hopes with his strong experience and connections that he will be able to bring back the community that was before Covid-19.

Outside of Augsburg, Zaj enjoys fishing with his cousins, and when they are not out he enjoys playing video games. He also enjoys fixing computers, though not for free. Zaj is also trying to pick up drawing again after being on hiatus.

Cecilia Lee

Family Leader 2022 – 2023

Hometown: Coon Rapids, Minnesota

Cecilia Lee(20) is a Third Year studying International Business with a minor in Marketing. She is a first-generation college student in her family. Cecilia is very active in school; she’s a part of many organizations and clubs here at Augsburg. She’s a family leader for the Pan Asian Student Services mentor program, she is also the Augsburg Asian Student Association organization’s President, and she is a community specialist for the Luther and Anderson residence halls. She hopes to create a welcoming and comforting environment for all Augsburg students where they can have a source of help and support, which is why she’s involved in many departments and organizations at

Augsburg. 

Cecilia may be very involved in school, but when she has some free time she enjoys singing, painting, cleaning, and exploring with cooking. She also enjoys modeling, photography, and listening to music. These are only a few of Cecilia’s favorite hobbies. 

 

Emily Vang

Family Leader 2022 – 2023

Hometown: Maplewood, Minnesota

Hello all! My name is Emily, my preferred pronouns are She/Her/Hers, and I am an upcoming third year at Augsburg University studying Marketing. Alongside being a Family Leader for the Pan-Asian Student Services (PASS) program, I will also be leading the Augsburg Asian Student Association (AASA) as the Vice President. In regards to my upbringing, I was born and raised in Eastside Saint Paul but moved with my family to Maplewood in 2019. I am also the third youngest of eight siblings!
Additionally, some hobbies that I have include: Learning, exploring the world/traveling, arts and craft, content creating, reading, cooking and trying various foods, and watching anime! Overall, I am excited to be a part of the PASS program, leading and helping the underrepresented.

Ly Xiong

Ly Xiong(21) is currently in her Third Year at Augsburg studying Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. She has been involved in the Leadership program since her First Year of college, and now she’s a Pan-Asian Student Service Family Leader. She enjoys meeting new people and finding ways to help them have an uplifting experience. She also hopes to build a community where Augsbrug students can share their values, stories and experiences with each other. This is why she became part of the Pan-Asian Student Service Program.

Outside of school, she enjoys practicing playing the piano. She loves going on adventures and outdoor activities such as canoeing, biking, hiking and swimming. 

 

Thel Moo

Family Leader 2022 – 2023

Hometown: Saint Paul, Minnesota

Thel Moo(21) is a third year student studying Finance. He is originally from Thailand refugee camp called Umpiem. His family came to America in 2010 for a better life and opportunity. He is the eldest of 4 and is the first in his family to attend college. He joined the Pan-Asian Student Service program as a mentee during his first year, Mentor in his second year and will be a Family Leader for his Third year. He hopes to be a resource for all the incoming Augsburg students and build a strong relationship to make sure everyone feels connected so they know they have support by their side during their college journey.

When Thel has free time, he would go workout at the gym. He also love to play soccer and hanging out with his friends. He enjoys hiking to explore nature and listening to music.
