Anchor institutions are defined as stable, enduring organizations that are rooted in their localities, whose resources can be leveraged as agents of community and economic development. The CCAP anchor partner capacity comprises 16 ZIP codes, 60,000 employees, and 112,000 students with $2.5 billion in annual spending. Through CCAP, these \u201ceds and meds\u201d have focused on procurement spending, workforce development, and transit use in the ZIP codes along the Green Line in Minneapolis and St. Paul.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Augsburg University was a founding member of CCAP, which is chaired by President Paul Pribbenow. Examples of Augsburg\u2019s commitment to neighborhood vitality in recent years include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/healthcommons\/cedar-riverside\/\"><span class=\"s2\">Cedar-Riverside Health Commons<\/span><\/a> drop-in center, which opened in 2011 in collaboration with CCAP partner M Health Fairview, the East Africa Health Project, and People\u2019s Center Health Services.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/corporatefoundation\/urban-scrubs-camp\/\"><span class=\"s4\">Urban Scrubs Camp<\/span><\/a><\/span><span class=\"s1\">, an annual summer camp for metro students to get hands-on exposure to health care careers and experience a college campus.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/sabo\/programs\/augsburg-local\/\"><span class=\"s4\">Augsburg Local<\/span><\/a><\/span><span class=\"s1\">, an initiative to leverage Augsburg\u2019s institutional and individual purchasing power to support local businesses.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.centralcorridoranchorpartnership.org\/newsarchive\/augsburg-exceeds-procurement-goal-in-new-construction-projec.html\"><span class=\"s4\">Inclusionary contracting<\/span><\/a><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> in the construction of the Hagfors Center for Business, Science, and Religion, including over $3 million to Twin City Glass Contractors, a woman-owned business located in the Central Corridor geography.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThese strategies not only make our organization stronger, but they contribute to more prosperity for the Central Corridor and the whole Twin Cities region,\u201d said Pribbenow.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Anchor Summit will be held from 8\u201310:30 a.m. on November 16 at the Fairview Community Health &amp; Wellness Hub in St. Paul. David Maurrasse will deliver a keynote on the power and potential of anchor partnerships, followed by a panel discussion on creating shared value and community health and safety in the central corridor.
