\"aviands\" If you travel up to the Commons in Christensen Center these days, it’s<\/p>\n

hard to miss the sheets of plastic, rumblings of drills, and workers<\/p>\n

in hard hats.<\/p>\n

All of the construction is part of the changes that Augsburg’s new<\/p>\n

dining services provider, A’viands, is working on this summer. Part of that work is a redesign of the main service area. The updates incorporate feedback received from the Augsburg community in the request-for-proposals process.<\/p>\n

Most of the area will have a completely new look. The wall that<\/p>\n

separated the service area and the seating area will be removed to<\/p>\n

allow for better traffic flow and new cooking exhibition stations.<\/p>\n

The space will get new tile and counter tops to help freshen up the<\/p>\n

space. There also will be a new salad bar and condiment station.<\/p>\n

A’viands will be working most of the summer to ensure that they are<\/p>\n

ready by the start of the fall day college term in August.<\/p>\n

Other changes to food services include:<\/p>\n

More hours and convenient times<\/p>\n

\u2022 Continuous hours from breakfast through dinner in The Commons<\/p>\n

\u2022 Extended hours in Nabo<\/p>\n

\u2022 Extended hours for Weekend College weekends for Coopers and Nabo<\/p>\n

Meal plan flexibility<\/p>\n

\u2022 Flex dollars available on more meal plans<\/p>\n

\u2022 A commuter meal plan option also for weekend and grad students<\/p>\n

\u2022 A points plan for faculty, staff, and students not required to<\/p>\n

purchase a board plan<\/p>\n

Fresh and exciting foods!<\/p>\n

\u2022 Healthy choices<\/p>\n

\u2022 Organic, vegetarian, and vegan options<\/p>\n

Student involvement<\/p>\n

\u2022 Student advisory committee<\/p>\n
