New students have only gotten a taste of Augsburg so far, but when they step on campus as an official Auggie, they get to learn what the Augsburg experience is all about.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Those first few days leading up to the start of the school year were packed full of practical things\u2014like neighborhood meetings, connecting with Augsburg staff and faculty members, discovering campus resources, and navigating Auggie\u2019s Path, Augsburg\u2019s tunnel and skyway system. Those first few days are also about the intangible moments that can\u2019t be described on a schedule or marked on a packing list\u2014finding a new favorite meal at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/augsburg.campus-dining.com\/menus\/the-commons\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Commons<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, belly laughing with fellow Auggies, seeking quiet moments alone to soak it all in.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year\u2019s Auggie Days took place August 28\u201331, and the schedule included a mix of info sessions and social activities, including The Neighborhood Challenge, in which students competed against each other in a variety of fun challenges for a memorable prize. \u201cWe were very excited to welcome our newest Auggies to campus last week,\u201d says <strong>Erin Whipkey<\/strong>, director of Campus Life. \u201cAuggie Days is an important time to start making connections with other students, get more familiar with our campus resources, and prepare for the first days of the school year.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first days of the school year are packed with events for new and returning students to connect and build excitement for the year ahead. First-Year First Day on September 1 offered an Opening Convocation led by <strong>President Paul Pribbenow<\/strong>, along with a clapping tunnel of staff and faculty members. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/multicultural-life\/\">Multicultural Life<\/a> hosts <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/multicultural-life\/fallapalooza\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fallapalooza<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which consists of events throughout the week, like Lo-Fi at the Library, the Campus Ministry Block Party, the Involvement and Healing Fair, a welcome social, and men\u2019s and women\u2019s soccer games.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe want to encourage students to go to events,\u201d says Whipkey. \u201cWhether you go with a friend, roommate, or by yourself\u2014events are a great way to meet other students and make new connections.\u201d<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_images_carousel images=&#8221;14680,14681,14682,14683,14684,14685,14686,14687,14688,14689,14690,14691,14692,14694,14693,14695&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Auggie Days is one of the most exciting times of the year.
